New Delhi: India has seen a major drop in wildlife crime cases over the past five years, Parliament was informed on Monday. While the total number of cases fell from 820 in 2020 to 354 in 2024, data shows a minor spike in incidents this year compared to previous trends.

AI Education Expands to Over 18,000 CBSE Schools

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is making its way into Indian classrooms, with 18,839 CBSE-affiliated schools now offering it as a skill module. The government revealed in Parliament that AI is being taught from Class VI to VIII as a 15-hour module and offered as an optional subject for Classes IX to XII. This move aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, said Minister of State for Education, Jayant Chaudhary.

Govt Plans to Create 50,000 Jobs in Maritime Sector

The Central Government has laid out an ambitious plan to generate over 50,000 jobs in India’s maritime sector, with a strong emphasis on island development and skill-based training. Responding to a question in Parliament, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said the initiative is aimed at strengthening the country’s maritime economy and creating employment opportunities for the youth.
