Mumbai – A heartbreaking incident took place at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, where a 22-year-old student, Rohit Sinha, lost his life after falling from the 10th floor of his hostel building in Powai during the early hours of Saturday.

The incident occurred around 2:30 AM. Rohit was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, but doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Rohit, originally from Delhi, was in his fourth year of studying Metallurgical Sciences at the prestigious institute.

The police have registered an Accidental Death Report and have started an investigation to understand the circumstances surrounding the incident.
