A heartbreaking incident took place in Adampur near Jalandhar on Monday morning, where a five-year-old girl lost her life after being run over by her school bus.

The child, identified as Kirat from Udesiyan village in Alawalpur, was getting off the school bus when the accident happened. Eyewitnesses say she was crushed under the rear wheel of the vehicle.Shockingly, the bus driver fled the scene after the incident.

The school is located near a highway. Soon after the accident, angry locals and the girl’s relatives blocked the road in protest. The Adampur police reached the spot and managed to calm the situation.The girl’s body has been sent for post-mortem. Police have assured that strict action will be taken against those responsible.
