An FIR has been registered against an unknown Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) media handler after Punjab Opposition Leader Partap Singh Bajwa complained about a doctored video being circulated online. The video falsely showed him supporting Bikram Singh Majithia, whose house was recently raided by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau.
Bajwa had originally posted a video on June 25, 2025, criticizing Punjab Vigilance officials for allegedly harassing MLA Ganieve Majithia during the search. He says AAP edited the video to remove parts mentioning Ganieve Kaur and twisted his words to make it look like he was defending Majithia, who is currently in police custody.
Bajwa submitted a formal complaint to the Chandigarh Police and included a pen drive with both the original and the edited videos. He accused top AAP leaders—Arvind Kejriwal, Bhagwant Mann, Harpal Cheema, Aman Arora, and others—of deliberately sharing the fake video to ruin his and the Congress party’s reputation.
The FIR was registered under Sections 336(4), 356, and 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. However, Kejriwal and Mann were not named directly in the FIR.
Bajwa has demanded a full investigation, calling the act a “politically motivated attempt” to distract from the alleged wrongdoings of Punjab Vigilance officials, including entering the private space of a woman MLA during the raid.
