Gurdaspur | Today Advocate Baljeet Singh Pahra has officially assumed office as the President of the Municipal Committee, Gurdaspur, following his resounding election victory.
Widely respected for his commitment to public service and legal acumen, Mr. Pahra has pledged to lead Gurdaspur towards a new era of development, transparency, and people-centric governance. During this, his brother Barindermeet Singh Pahra, MLA Gurdaspur was also present in the oath ceremony.
Upon taking charge, Advocate Pahra expressed his gratitude to the residents of Gurdaspur for their overwhelming trust and support. He emphasized that his administration would prioritize urban infrastructure, sanitation, clean drinking water, solid waste management, and the creation of green spaces and smart civic solutions for the citizens.

“My focus will be on inclusive development and bringing transparency in every operation of the Municipal Committee. Every rupee spent will reflect on the ground. Gurdaspur deserves better, and I promise to deliver results,” said President Baljeet Singh Pahra during his oath-taking ceremony.
He further announced that a detailed roadmap of civic projects will soon be unveiled, with special attention to:
- Road repair and street lighting
- Streamlined garbage collection systems
- Upgradation of public parks and community halls
- Boosting small businesses and street vendors through planned zoning
- Digitizing municipal services for better accessibility and accountability
