Ropar: BJP workers held a protest at the Ropar bypass on Friday, strongly opposing the land pooling policy introduced by the Punjab government. The protest was led by the party’s district president, Ajayvir Singh Lalpura, and saw participation from many affected farmers from nearby villages like Shampura, Railon Kalan, Gurdaspura, and Samrala. While addressing the protest, Lalpura criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, claiming that Punjab is being remotely controlled by Delhi leaders. “Bhagwant Mann may be the Chief Minister, but the real decisions are being made by Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, and other AAP leaders from Delhi who have no connection to Punjab,” he said.
He blamed the current hardships faced by the people of Ropar on the 2022 Assembly elections. “We made a mistake by choosing the wrong leaders. This land pooling policy is harmful to our villages and must be withdrawn,” Lalpura added. He also challenged AAP MLAs to openly declare their position on the policy. “If they’re against it, they should resign. If not, they will have to answer to the people in the next elections,” he warned.
