The Border Security Force (BSF) has foiled yet another attempt of cross-border drug smuggling using drones along the India-Pakistan border in Amritsar. Within the past 24 hours, BSF troops intercepted and recovered six Pakistani drones and seized a total of 2.34 kg of suspected heroin.BSF officials shared on X (formerly Twitter) that the recoveries were made in multiple incidents throughout Thursday night near the Pul Moran border outpost.
According to a BSF spokesperson, alert jawans spotted several drones entering Indian territory. The force immediately deployed counter-drone measures and successfully neutralized the threats.During follow-up search operations, four DJI Mavic 3 Classic drones and three packets of heroin weighing 1.744 kg were recovered from fields near Pul Moran village.
In a separate incident near Roranwala Khurd village, another DJI Mavic 3 Classic drone was found along with a packet of heroin weighing around 596 grams. Officials said the drone crash-landed due to technical disruption from BSF’s anti-drone systems.Early this morning, a sixth drone — also a DJI Mavic 3 Classic — was intercepted and brought down near Dhanoe Kalan village.The BSF continues to maintain high alert along the border, as the use of drones for drug and arms smuggling remains a persistent threat.
