Four Punjab Police inspectors, accused of assaulting a serving Army officer and his son in Patiala, have rejoined duty after being absconding since March 13 — the day of the incident. The case involves Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath and his son Angad, who were allegedly beaten by 12 policemen, including the four inspectors, during a parking dispute near a roadside eatery close to Rajindra Hospital in Patiala.
The four officers — Harjinder Dhillon, Harry Boparai, Ronnie Singh, and Shaminder Singh — reported back to their respective stations in Sangrur, Barnala, and Malerkotla on Wednesday.Though they are currently under suspension, all four have now been transferred to Bathinda and Ludhiana. It is believed they returned to duty after the investigation was handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
